Clean Eating Recipes

"My joints hurt. I have brain fog. I know I should eat better, but I don't know where to begin." These were the words I spoke for years. In January 2017, I took my first steps towards a no refined sugar, no wheat flour diet. It was rough to say the least. It took me three more years to figure out how to adjust to this lifestyle so I could enjoy eating and not feel deprived. Looking back, I realize it was difficult because I had no food plan to help with my cravings. 

Here are some recipes that have helped me as I journeyed into a life of no refined sugar and no wheat flour. Sugar and flour both cause inflammation in my body, but every time I gave them up previously I felt deprived when it came to food choices. I needed a muffin recipe, a cookie recipe, and something with chocolate. Being that I am a trained pastry chef, it was very difficult to find recipes that compared to the yummy goodness of my favorite treats. Finally, I have found things that calm my sweet tooth, and keep my body running in an optimal manner.

This recipe book will be updated monthly with more options as my family and I continue to find new ways to nourish our beings. As you adventure on your own health journey, maybe one of these recipes will help fulfill a need as you seek healthy ways to energize your body and mind.
